Budget Prioritization That Actually Works

Most people struggle with money because they're managing numbers instead of priorities. We teach you how to align your spending with what genuinely matters to you—not some spreadsheet ideal.

Three Core Principles

We've distilled years of financial coaching into fundamental concepts that work regardless of income level.

Values Before Numbers

Your budget shouldn't dictate your life—your life should shape your budget. We start by identifying what you actually care about, then build financial systems around those priorities.

Flexible Frameworks

Rigid budgets fail because life isn't predictable. Learn to create spending frameworks that adapt when circumstances change, without derailing your progress.

Sustainable Habits

Quick fixes don't stick. We focus on building daily routines and decision-making patterns that become automatic over time—no willpower required.

How We Got Here

theriquandoval started from a frustration with conventional financial advice that didn't reflect reality.

2019

The Beginning

Started offering one-on-one coaching in Darwin. Quickly realized most financial advice was either too rigid or completely impractical for regular people dealing with real-world complexity.

2021

Method Development

After working with over 200 clients, we noticed patterns. People who focused on priority alignment rather than strict budgets saw better outcomes. We formalized this into a teachable system.

2023

Online Expansion

Launched our first structured online program. The response confirmed what we suspected—people everywhere were tired of budgeting apps and wanted something more human.

2025

Current Focus

Now we're refining our curriculum based on participant feedback and preparing autumn 2025 cohorts. The goal remains the same—help people manage money in ways that actually fit their lives.

Context Over Formulas

I don't believe in universal financial rules. What works for a single parent managing shift work income looks nothing like what works for a freelancer with irregular payments. Our sessions focus on understanding your specific situation first.

Real Conversations

Most financial education feels like being lectured. I prefer actual dialogue—you bring questions, we work through them together. The best learning happens when participants share what's not working and we troubleshoot as a group.

Long-Term Thinking

I've seen too many people chase quick wins that don't last. Our program is designed for gradual improvement over six months to a year. Some participants join multiple cohorts because they're working on different financial phases. That's completely normal and honestly, more realistic than promising instant transformation.

Learning That Fits Your Schedule

We know you're busy. Our program structure adapts to different learning styles and availability levels.

01

Live Sessions

Weekly video calls scheduled for evenings (Australian time zones). Sessions are recorded if you can't attend live. We rotate times throughout the cohort to accommodate different schedules.

02

Self-Paced Materials

All content is accessible in written and video formats. Go through at your own speed, revisit sections as needed. Most participants spend 2-3 hours per week on coursework.

03

Peer Discussion

Private forum where cohort members share experiences and strategies. Often the most valuable learning comes from others dealing with similar challenges.

04

Individual Check-ins

Monthly one-on-one sessions with instructors for personalized guidance. This is where we address your specific situation and adjust approaches as needed.

What Participants Say

"I'd tried budgeting apps, spreadsheets, the envelope method—nothing stuck. theriquandoval's approach finally clicked because it started with my priorities rather than someone else's ideal budget categories. Six months in and I'm actually making progress without feeling restricted."

Participant testimonial

Elena Trevino

Completed October 2024 cohort

"The live sessions were helpful, but honestly the peer forum provided the most value. Seeing how others adapted the concepts to their situations gave me ideas I wouldn't have thought of alone. It's less about following a formula and more about understanding principles you can apply flexibly."
